I’ve got on a new kick ever since I did a school installation featuring food. As part of a grant for the Healthy Active Schools initiative in the Reynolds School District, I was asked to create mosaic fruits and vegetables with the kids at Salish Ponds Elementary in Gresham, OR. It was such an engaging and spontaneous project that I decided I wanted to make some for myself. It’s Spring-time you know, and I got that urge to do something in the yard.
Here are some samples of my first successful crop. They are grouted and sealed for outdoor installation, and I hope that they will be a big hit at my upcoming studio show in May, for the Mt Tabor Art Walk. May 19-20.
